Hummer H1 buh bye

The Chron reports that GM has given up on the top-of-the-line Hummer H1 after sales slowed to less than a 100 this year. In an interesting sign of the times it also notes that more Prius' were sold than the entire Hummer line.

damn! less than 100 units? GM really needs a beating for wasting so much money on such a doomed concept. the Hummer brand was successful (and sustainable) as AM General's small niche - manufacturing small numbers for select audiences. but once GM bought the brand, they needed to feed bigger coffers and it was predictable that Hummer would not be sustainable for a company the size of GM. so now they have ruined the brand, and have no sustainable products for the near future beyond hulking SUVs. shameful.
